I am a physician in training. I am also a person, journeying through life, love, and relationships. Through this challenging time, I have discovered it is important to always find humor and light in every situation.

There is a joke your first day in the operating room. “Don’t touch anything blue.” Blue signifies that the item is sterile. The joke being, everything is blue in the operating room. You literally have to stand with your arms crossed against your chest with you hands buried in your armpits and remain completely still to achieve this great task.

There is a great deal of professionalism and respect that goes into becoming a physician. Sometimes we forget that doctors are themselves, human beings. These are a collection of my stories throughout my medical training that have occurred both inside the hospital and beyond the call room doors. It's my way of touching everything blue.
